The city of Brussels is an interesting tourist destination with many popular sites, landmarks, museums and galleries on display. Here are situated the headquarters of many European institutions and thus it is often said that the city is not only the capital of Belgium but also a capital of Europe. Being among the most elegant cities in the world, Brussels is famous for its beauty and its diverse culture. Among its symbols are the statue of the Manneken Pis, the Grote Markt and the Atomium, however the city has much more to reveal. The Belgium capital offers a variety of hidden treasures which are scattered close to your Brussels apartment and throughout the city. Those hidden attractions could be revealed to the travellers only with the special help of the locals. The local guides are just what a tourist need if they want to stay off the beaten track, since these guides know the best hidden attractions, and besides that can bring you to the finest restaurants in the city, the hottest night clubs and the nicest shops. In this way the traveler will get the chance to experience the city of Brussels on a different level.
Among the hidden attractions in Brussels that definitely deserve the attention of the travelers are the Tram Museum, which is open every weekend from March until October, and features a large collections of buses, trams, trolley buses and taxis that have served the city of Brussels since year 1869. Another site that deserves the attention is the interesting marketplace at Place du Chatelain, which offers fresh organic products. A favorite dining place of the locals is the restaurant “In the Little Spider’s Head’, where are served typical Belgian dishes with an impressive menu of beers and wines.
The city of Brussels is a great place for those who love the busy nightlife and dance clubs. There are many bars and clubs, some with live music and some not, and an option of many concerts and art exhibitions. Locals love to go to the Palais des Beaux Arts, which is a hangout area with many nice art exhibits and theatre performances, classical music concerts and dance concerts. Another hidden attraction in Brussels to consider is the bar Les Jeux d’Hiver, which is set in the Bois de la Cambre area. Here one can get a nice cocktail and enjoy some lively atmosphere. Whatever you decide to do away from the main tourist things, the traveler will be glad and will enjoy the Brussels atmosphere.
